Why the R Guitar Spa?
So “R” is from my name, Rui.
I used to perform guitar setups for my friends, and they used to say the guitars looked like they went to a spa and came back better than new.
Just like when you go to a spa, knowledgeable people work on your pains, and you end up performing much better!
The Guitar Spa is my workshop!
Now I sell tonewoods specific for guitar building. My workshop is like a spa, but for wood.
A place where they can rest and be cared for before someone builds a guitar with them!
My grandfather was a master woodworker, had a small workshop with a wood inventory left over from his work. Some are really, really old pieces of wood that have been kept indoors and dry for a long, long time.
Since 2020, I am the second generation owner of his small workshop, and that’s when my interest in the tone woods grew.
My mission is to have a library of superior tone woods available to everyone who desires custom shop materials, kept by an artisan’s keen eye.
All the materials available are inspected, cared for, and packed by an artisan that knows how to treat wood: Rui, the Guitar Spa.
